How is BOTOX® and Dysport® Administered?
Each session begins with a consultation, giving you an opportunity to clearly communicate your goals and ask questions you may have about BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®, facial wrinkles and the range of treatments available. Prior to your procedure, we will review your relevant medical and skincare history, as safety is always our priority. Please note it is recommended that patients refrain from ibuprofen and similar anti-inflammatories for one week in anticipation of their treatment. This simple step will reduce your risk for slight bruising that is a possibility with any injectable process.
If BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® is determined to be the best course, the injections will be made with precision based on the personal treatment plan discussed. Your injector will use a fine needle to administer the medication to minimize discomfort. Some patients report that the injections feel like a slight pinch, but anesthetic is not necessary. The entire process should last no longer than 15 minutes, and you will be able to resume work or other activities immediately after leaving the office.
BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport® Aftercare
While patients may experience some degree of post-injection swelling or bruising, no recuperation time is required after this nonsurgical procedure. Side effects are generally short-lived and can be easily concealed underneath makeup. Discomfort is minimal and will not prohibit you from your daily routine.
What Results Can I Expect From BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport®?
Patients typically begin to notice results within 48 hours after their session, with the full benefit appearing after about one week.
Effects can last up to four months, after which regular muscle activity returns and the wrinkles become pronounced once again. At that time, you can schedule another session to maintain your more youthful appearance over the long term. Some patients find that by planning regular treatments, they can begin to extend the time between injections as the muscles seem to relax for a more extended period.
